What is UDISE+?
UDISE+ (Unified District Information System for Education Plus) is the Government of India’s national database of school education. Every recognised school, from pre-primary to higher secondary, reports data once a year on enrolment, teachers, infrastructure and facilities. Each school gets a unique UDISE code, and each student gets a Permanent Education Number (PEN).
The data is collected by the Ministry of Education through state, district and block education offices. It is used for planning, for funding under schemes such as Samagra Shiksha, and for the ministry’s annual school education reports.
